Topping the charts is the month of May, where sellers could see a whopping 13.1% premium on their homes. This finding suggests that springtime might not only bring blooming flowers but also blooming profits for home sellers. Following closely behind May are February and April, offering premiums of 12.8% and 12.5% respectively. So, if you're contemplating listing your property, these months might offer the ideal window of opportunity.

May 27th: The Ultimate Seller's Day

Among the plethora of days in a year, one stands out as the ultimate jackpot for sellers: May 27th. On this day, sellers could command a premium as high as 16.2%, according to ATTOM's analysis. It seems that as the weather warms up, so does the demand for homes, resulting in favorable conditions for sellers.

The Best Days to Sell

Delving deeper into the data, ATTOM identified the top 20 days to sell a home, with a focus on May, February, March, and June. Apart from May 27th, February also boasts several lucrative days, including February 25th (15.9%) and February 17th (15.8%). March and June also offer their fair share of advantageous selling days, emphasizing the importance of timing when it comes to maximizing profits.

To arrive at these insights, ATTOM analyzed over 59 million single-family home and condo sales spanning from 2011 to 2023. The study meticulously examined various calendar days, ultimately identifying the ones that yielded the highest premiums for sellers. By comparing median sales prices with automated valuation models, ATTOM was able to quantify the premiums or discounts associated with specific days.
